At Maloneys we are all about championing quality, Australian produce. As a family business, we are hands-on and have been since day one. All four of us share a common passion for good food, and enjoy nothing more than sharing a meal with friends and family. This passion for good food is what drives us every day.
As Coogee locals we recognised the great need for a quality grocer in the neighbourhood, and so opened our first store on Coogee Bay Road back in 2006. Responding to demand in the Surry Hills area a further store was opened on Crown Street in 2009, and then another in Moncur Street, Wollahra in 2016. In 2023 we are proud to have now branched out to our fourth store in Darling Street, Rozelle!
Our aim is to provide a convenient one stop shop of quality fruit and vegetables, fresh food, and groceries to our local neighbourhoods. Everything you want and everything you need under one roof!
We hand pick our produce, and taste our fresh food and groceries. Supporting Australian growers and producers will always be a priority, as is providing fresh, seasonal produce. Working with local growers means less time and distance from the farm to your fridge. Your produce is fresher and your support stays local.
More like part of the family, our amazing and long-term staff are the key to our success. Strong customer service and getting to know our locals will always be important to us. Our staff are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. You will always be greeted with a smile at Maloneys!

Pawel
Meet Pawel, our polish counterpart. Joining the Maloneys team way back in 2007 at our flagship store in Coogee. Nowadays you’ll find him taking care of business in Rozelle with his attention to detail keeping Maloneys looking spick and span! He is one of our most experienced team members and it shows.
Chris
You’re looking at Chris, otherwise known as Baz, our favourite Northern lad. Baz has been working with us since we opened our doors at Surry Hills in 2009. Working his way through the ranks Baz was a natural choice to take on the role of Manager soon after and has been doing an outstanding job ever since!
Som
This is Som, a very talented young lady who joined the Maloneys family in 2014. Som has worked in all areas of the business since day dot but she now spends her days knocking up our delicious salads and sandwiches at the Surry Hills store. She has a natural flare with food & brings the flavours of her thai heritage to our range of ready to go meals.
Susan
Say hello to Susan, pronounced Su-saan. Susan is a long time staff member at our Coogee store, joining us back in 2014. A veteran at handling fresh fruit and veggies, he now manages the fresh food and grocery section of the store. Susan is hardworking and dedicated and brings a wealth of knowledge to the team.
Tony
Have you met Tony? Most likely if you frequent our Coogee store. Tony has been with us from the very beginning, managing our flagship store since 2006. A childhood friend of Richard Maloney and unquestionably a huge part of the Maloneys family. Tony knows everybody and everything about our business and is an invaluable member of our team.
Nilson
Hello Nilson! Have you had the pleasure of meeting our most charismatic member of the Maloneys team? Nilson has graced all three stores with his presence and personality since 2008. Most famous for his barista skills and megawatt smile he is guaranteed to brighten up your day!
Hartono
Introducing Hartono, joining us in 2016 there’s nothing he can’t do. Tono graced us with his presence at our Woollahra store for seven years but now spends his days at our new store in Rozelle running a very tight ship. Hardworking and dependable he is a valued member of the team.
Barbara
Have you met Barbara? Another member of the Maloneys family. Barb has known Jo & Sebastian all their life and is fairy godmother to the Maloney’s children. Well known and loved by all the Woollahra locals she’s a very special lady indeed.
Allendy
Meet Allendy, our quiet achiever. Allendy has been with us since 2016 and is an important member of our Woollahra team. Another excellent allrounder Allendy is a very loyal and hardworking employee indeed.
Ferry
This is Ferry, one of our star employees who’s been working with us since 2012. Ferry works at lightning speed and is known for his excellent attention to detail. Have you ever noticed the perfectly faced up shelves at our Surry Hills store? That’s down to Ferry! There’s nothing he can’t do and we’d be lost without him.
Amy
Introducing Amy, a key member of the Maloneys Grocer team. Diligent, smart and dedicated Amy has gifted us with her excellent attention to detail and natural sense of order. Based at our Coogee store for many years she has learnt the business from the ground up and now spends her days behind the scenes refining our product range across all four stores and making sure ‘The Good Food Place’ is stocked with lots of yummy goodness. Always smiling, she truly is a breath of fresh air.
Bee
What a busy Bee! This is in fact “Bee” who’s busy preparing all salads and food prep for our Coogee store. You may not find her on the shop floor very often as she is usually downstairs beautifying salads and veggie sticks. A quiet achiever but very much appreciated! Always smiling and another brilliant member of staff.
Annie
This is Annie, one of our youngest members of staff at Surry Hills. With a beaming smile and impeccable customer service skills Annie is a star employee! You may also spot her at our Coogee store from time to time on the Coffee Machine.
Phil
Say hello to Phil, a veteran staff member of the Maloneys team, joining us way back in 2009 at our Surry Hills location. Nowadays Phil is out and about in the Maloneys Van dropping in to the stores each day with his van full of goodies from the warehouse. Phil works tirelessly and is very committed, he never ever misses a shift! What would we do without you?
